Tours along the Vendée coastline
By choosing these itineraries, you can pedal while filling up on iodine. Starting out from Saint-Jean-de-Monts, take a beautiful stroll between land and sea to admire a succession of landscapes made up of coastline and pine forests. Drive 12 km towards Sion and discover Plage des Becs, Plage des Salins and Plage des Demoiselles. Or head to Notre-Dame-de-Monts from Saint-Jean-de-Monts for breathtaking scenery.
Other sites such as Les Sables-d’Olonne and the surrounding area, Bretignolles-sur-Mer, Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and Brem-sur-Mer are also great places to explore along the Vendée coastline.
Your cycling vacation in the Vendée will be incomplete if you don’t include a visit to the islands: you can ride along the Passage du Gois at low tide to see the canals and bouchots that support the mussel and shellfish farms emerge from the water. The Ile d’Yeu also has a wealth of sites to visit by bike: castle, citadel, beaches, coves, narrow streets and picturesque houses follow one another along your route from Ker Châlon.
Wine tourism by bike in Vendée
Take your bike for a ride through the Fiefs Vendéens and taste the produce of some of the wineries. You can easily find local companies offering bike rentals on site. You can take breaks to admire the beauty of the scenery and taste the Brem AOC Fiefs Vendéens wines on the routes along the Côte de Lumière from Brem-sur-Mer to Les Sables-d’Olonne.
Cycling in the Vendée countryside
Spend wonderful moments together by scheduling bike rides in the Vendée countryside. The 7 km circuit between Lac de Tricherie and Mesnard-la-Barotière, or the 14 km circuit to Bois-Verts, takes in a variety of river and forest landscapes.
Young couples without children can test their performance and physical stamina by choosing the 53km loop that starts in the bocage at the logis de la Chabotterie. You’ll be able to visit a number of communes, including Saint-Sulpice-le-Verdon, Mormaison and Rocheservière.
